The Tangleha Artists Limited was originally set up as a designers collective in 1984 by Philip Lampkin, Amanda Armitage and Robin Lyall. They offered prints of their artworks, pewter with semi-precious stone and cut-coin jewellery, all produced and packaged from the workshop at Tangleha House. These items together with other crafts and artworks from other designers were sold together at trade fairs, the Edinburgh Fringe and at Workshop 125, Montrose.

Tangleha Artists Limited had finished production and had been wound up by 1994. The workshop at Tangleha House became a store for the left over shop produce, recycled materials and tools and also a band practice area.

By 2009, 25 years from it's original creation, the next generation start to sort through the Workshop area and dream of the space that it could become. 7 years of ideas gathering, space clearing and event hosting later and the Tangleha Artists Collective is officially registered once again, although with a slightly different name to reflect our co-operative and social nature.
